Mountain Words honors one the Gunnison Valley’s most influential writers with the debut of a short film and a medley of guests presenters who have intersected with George Sibley.

The Storm In My Head is a 15 minute documentary short film featuring George Sibley and directed by Mike Horn & Galin Foley. For George, writing is thinking. And thinking is writing. In The Storm In My Head, Sibley, through both select pieces of writing and interviews, shares his thoughts on his more than 50 years living and working and writing in the Rockies, and how that practice has shaped his perspective on existential questions and meandering reflections alike. All are ingredients in the never ending “storm” that swirls in Sibley’s head, a storm that only calms when he offloads his thoughts into story.
